About The Chapter

Texas Chapter of the American College of Physicians

The Texas Chapter of the American College of Physicians (ACP) proudly represents over 8,000 members, including physicians, residents, medical students, and affiliates. The chapter benefits from a broad and diverse leadership team spread throughout Texas.

The Texas Chapter is dedicated to advancing the field of internal medicine through its three branches:

  • Texas Chapter of the American College of Physicians (TXACP) is comprised of two regions (Texas North and Texas South) within the state and representative leadership from across Texas. The mission of the Texas Chapter of the ACP is to promote quality health care for all Texans by strengthening the practice of internal medicine.
  • Texas ACP Services (TXACPS): This 501c6 organization works to support and improve internal medicine practice by addressing its scientific, economic, social, and political aspects. Its goal is to ensure the delivery of the highest quality patient care and uphold strong medical standards. Members of the Texas Chapter are automatically granted membership in TXACP Services.
  • Texas ACP Foundation (TXACPF): The foundation represents the goals of the internal medicine physician profession: to foster knowledge and philanthropy that enhances quality health care in Texas. Contributions from the Foundation shall be for educational and philanthropic purposes that enhance health care in Texas through initiatives like the General Internal Medicine Statewide Preceptorship Program (GIMSPP) to encourage students to enter the field of internal medicine and to support residents in educational and scientific activities beneficial to Internal Medicine.

Chapter Leadership

Their commitment helps drive the chapter’s ongoing success and supports its mission to elevate internal medicine in Texas.
